MOCA Week 5

This image was done by an artist named Cecil Lee who is from New York, NY. Lee's father was a photographer who provided Lee with his first inspiration into art. As Lee got older he began to experiment in computer art where he has since mastered his skills. Instead of describing his artwork as Computer Art he describes it as "Computer Evolved Art" stating "built from my photographs, paintings, mixed media images, digital drawings, and color patterns that are organized into layers, manipulated with a drawing pas, filters and numerous other digital effects are all elements of the evolving process." Lee never sees a limit to his experimenting in the computer art world, only evolving into a new realm in digital art is what he seeks. He did not describe what program he used to create this particular image, but what I like about it is, the blend of colors and the colors chosen in this image. This image has a splash effect, and reminds me the ocean.

  1. Sometimes artists don't like to say what the program was worrying that people might think that it was the software and not the artist that created the work.

  2. I also think of the ocean when I look at this image. It's very appealing to look at.
