MOCA Review

I chose an image created by San Base, called “Eden garden after the fall.”  The artist currently lives in Canada but is originally from Russia.  I find his artwork interesting because it has an SF/fantasy quality that appeals to me.

Mr. Base calls his art Dynamic Painting, a process he developed over a period of eight years.  The process begins with a single image, then a computer manipulates that image by adding variations and fluctuations based on elements in the original image, thus creating a new image based on the original concept.  This process continues, possibly indefinitely, with the computer working on each successive image to create another unique image.
