The MOCA artist I chose this week is Charles Csuri. Charles Csuri turned from a successful career as
a modernist painter to the improbable potential of digital art. Csuri is
recognized as one of the great teachers, researchers and pioneers of computer
art. He is today professor emeritus at Ohio State University, where he taught
and headed up its digital art program for many years. He is one of the fathers of
programmed and algorithmic art, of 3D still art and animation, of virtual
reality, and his work has influenced such fields as flight simulation, magnetic
resonance imaging, game design and more. Above is one of his pieces which he titled "flrs" I like the piece because it is simple and easy to understand unlike some of the other pieces from artist on the website.

MOCA #6
The piece I selected this week is called "Mandala a123" by Christopher John Hobby. This artwork stood out to me for many aspects. Ultimately it is the shapes and its colors that compose the image that captivates me. The center of the image is an eye, which is surrounded by shapes that look like stars. These shapes also consist of other designs within them. These shapes are surrounded by a mystifying circle. Overall, the image gives a mystifying feeling.
Christopher John Hobby does sculptural, mosaic, textile, and stained glass art. More specifically, his art involving Mandalas comes from a spiritual interest. Hobby considers himself a "practicing artist" and his work has been widely shown and collected. It is not clearly stated, but his work seems to be made using Photoshop.

Enter with Folly
Enter with Folly by Carol Caputo reminds me of old plants and factories. The picture for me looks like an environment that is polluted Carol is a street artist that attended the school of visual art. She using an image from different pictures and collaged them together using Photoshop.
MOCA Week 6
This week's image was done by an artist named Kuniharu Shimizu who was born Japan and who was tired of the monotony of photography and realistic painting he then began to work on abstract art , and specifically computer art. He now consistently uses Adobe Illustrator, he considers his art now to be "haiku paintings" being inspired by haiku poetry and it's poets. Shimizu is actually advisor to the World Haiku Association. Shimizu stated "I am not much concerned about the newness of appearance, which is often considered a valuable thing in digital art works. I rather put in some substantial content in my digital works so that the viewer can extract many layers of meanings from them." This image is such a story telling image, the imagery is very poetic, and the colors are warm. To me it shows life on water and land but how they live amongst each other in a natural environment.

MOCA Week 6
This week I am submitting a link to a movie created by an artist named Truman Brown. The video is called Of Tempered Wings and Wheels. This video was created using a program called Mandlebulb 3D software. This program is available for free at Mandlebulb.com. This video was entered in the 2013 FractalForums.com film competition and was awarded 8th place.
The artist became interested in digital art way back in 1989 when he was introduced to ray-tracing by a program called DKBTrace. He was amazed at how the program was able to render photo-realistic images as a result of typing in a script. Since then the artist has tried his hand at several different graphical palettes including Flash animation, ray-tracing, Photoshop, fractals, and HDR photography.
Here's a screenshot from the movie . . .

Week 5
This week image is by Thomas Demuth who is an 3d artist from Germany. He uses 3D rendering software to create photo abstract images based on polygon mesh structures. He calls his style "Polygonismus". This artwork reminds me of the 'Next Generation Lord Supper". He believes his artwork range widely from religion to anthropology to terror in the modern world.

Fractals
I didn't find Ultra Fractal to be nearly as much fun to play with as Apophysis, but I was still able to come up with some nice images.
MOCA for Week 5
This week I chose an image by an artist from Belgrade,
Serbia. At an early age, Zlatko
Zgonjanin created art in several disciplines, including drawing, graphics and
collage. After graduating from the
Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, he began his career in film and TV
production. After working successfully for
years in this field, he felt a desire to express himself artistically
again. He chose digital painting as his
primary discipline. He was very enthusiastic
about fractal art. He found a computer
program that offered many opportunities – Apophysis!!

Stefan Haberkorn is a 3d artist and architect from
Germany. He was born 1978 in the Lutheran town Eisleben. He uses 3d rendering
software to create photo-realistic images based on polygon meshes and texture
mappings. Haberkorn calls his style "Aftertime". I like the photo
because it reminds me of something I have seen or could possibly see in a
movie. Also there are many parts to the picture however it is still very easy
to look at and identify what is happening in the picture.

MOCA Week 5
This image was done by an artist named Cecil Lee who is from New York, NY. Lee's father was a photographer who provided Lee with his first inspiration into art. As Lee got older he began to experiment in computer art where he has since mastered his skills. Instead of describing his artwork as Computer Art he describes it as "Computer Evolved Art" stating "built from my photographs, paintings, mixed media images, digital drawings, and color patterns that are organized into layers, manipulated with a drawing pas, filters and numerous other digital effects are all elements of the evolving process." Lee never sees a limit to his experimenting in the computer art world, only evolving into a new realm in digital art is what he seeks. He did not describe what program he used to create this particular image, but what I like about it is, the blend of colors and the colors chosen in this image. This image has a splash effect, and reminds me the ocean.

Week 5 - Artwork review
For this week, I choose this artwork. its done by Mark Bern.
He is from Zurich, Switzerland. Mark
Bern focuses on digital art and computer art, combining several elements of
pixel art. I choose this artwork because I like how this artwork could be seen
differently each time I look at it.
Week 4 - Artwork review
This week I choose this artwork which is done by Renata
Spiazzi. She is from Italy. She moved to
United States in 1952. She states " I taught arts and crafts at the San
Diego Community College. Upon retirement, I was introduced to the
computer." I choose this because I
like its colors. For me colors mean the beauty of this life.
